One of the major infrastructure gaps in Somaliland has been the lack of a formal, structured addressing system. Without standardized district, street, and door identifiers, it has long been difficult for citizens to receive postal deliveries, conduct official registrations, or even locate homes on digital maps.

To solve this, Geosol partnered with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Technology to design and implement Somaliland’s first National Address Portal—a groundbreaking initiative that brings order, traceability, and accessibility to every corner of the country.

The Address Portal assigns unique digital addresses to residences, businesses, and land plots. Each address contains critical geographic details such as district name, street name, door number, and an internationally compatible postal code. These standardized identifiers open the door for streamlined e-commerce, efficient public services, accurate navigation, and data-driven planning.

Registered residents and property owners can now claim their official address and benefit from services like home deliveries, digital service registration, and location-based logistics.

With this system, Geosol has made Somaliland discoverable, deliverable, and digitally connected—establishing the foundational infrastructure required for the next generation of public and private services.
