In Somaliland, land and property disputes are among the most frequent legal challenges faced by both private citizens and institutions. Unclear ownership records, lack of digital documentation, and manual case tracking have historically made litigation processes slow, inconsistent, and vulnerable to manipulation.

To address these issues, Geosol developed and deployed a centralized Litigation Portal in partnership with Maroodijeex Regional Courts. This digital solution is part of our broader e-Government ecosystem designed to bring transparency and accountability to land and property legal systems in Somaliland.

The portal allows regional courts to officially register, track, and manage ongoing legal cases related to disputed land or property. Once a case is logged in the system, it is automatically linked to the digital land registry—ensuring that the property in question is temporarily blocked from being sold, transferred, or used as collateral until the legal dispute is fully resolved.

This integration prevents fraud and unauthorized ownership changes, giving confidence to financial institutions, buyers, and government departments that they are not engaging in risky or illegal transactions.

The Litigation Portal enhances the efficiency of the justice system, promotes lawful land governance, and protects the rights of all stakeholders. It is a clear demonstration of how Geosol is using technology to build a fairer, more secure Somaliland through smart, digital transformation.
